The Big Trip

Starting in May 2013, we left Chicagoland to move around the country. Not across the country - around it. Like, all over it. We are taking advantage of the fact that my husband and I both work from home and we homeschool our children, and living the adventurous life of digital nomads for a year. We're renting furnished condos and homes for a month or so at a time, learning and working as we go, starting in southern California in May and taking a clockwise route around America.

So, basically, we're kind of officially homeless. Homeless, but not shelterless. Our main furniture and such are in storage, and our pet rats are being well cared for by an animal-loving friend. We travel only with what fits in the back of our Honda Pilot and in a cartop carrier.

It's a grand adventure.

I started putting our travel posts onto a separate blog, so that I can keep a cohesive record of where we've been and what we've done. I call it Motherhood on the Move.

Some of my Facebook peeps have asked some questions, which I've answered in this Q & A post. Feel free to ask any other questions on my Facebook page.

And I'll try to keep a running list of posts about our trip so far on this page. Enjoy!
